Leap Day!

What are you going to do with this extra day in the year?  Hopefully, I can finish quilting my Summer Blooms quilt and go for a walk around the lake on this Spring like day!

So this is what is on my design wall today...a little quilt for Project Linus. When I finish it, I will write up a tutorial for you.

And...it felt so good to have a needle and thread in my hand this weekend!
Working on one of the little blocks from the Splendid Sampler....

This is a short little post today....must get away from the computer if I am going to finish my quilt!

Slowing down a bit...

Really...it is not as bad as it looks!  And the pain is gone...just very inconvenient!  The good thing is I cannot wash dishes...the bad thing is that it has slowed down my quilting!  I had carpal tunnel surgery and a ganlion cyst removed from my index finger last Thursday.

But I can crochet!  I figured out a way to hold the hook, and it should count as physical therapy, right?

So, this is what is on my design wall....pre-surgery...it is calling to me! I had a couple of Kate Spain charm packs, so I decided to try this Ritzy Crackers Moda Bake Shop pattern.

Love this block, and the layout is so versatile!  You can get the free pattern at the Moda Bake Shop, just follow the link!

And this is the other little quilt that is waiting to be quilted now...a cute little design from Kim Diehls WhatNot club.  Since I love EPP, this was right up my alley!

So...back to watching The Good Wife and crocheting for  a bit!  Linking up today to Quilt Story Fabric Tuesday.

Peace and Harmony

This seems to be Bella's favorite perch in the evening....mine too, with the television, a quilt, my cat and my husband....and of course something to stitch on!  This is how I find peace and harmony in my daily life, how about you?

Last week, I headed to the Lake of the Ozarks for a quilt retreat with several of my quilty friends.  I had been fighting a cold, but decided to go anyway.  And I am glad I did!  There is always so much inspiration, good food, and time to visit and time to rest when nursing a cold.  Alka Seltzer plus is my friend!  My friend, Julie brought a few quilts from Linda Brannocks collection.  If you head over to her blog, you can see more of them.  Piecenplenty is the name of her blog.

I have always loved the primitive stars that Linda used!

Now that I am home, I am busy sewing up a quilt for Moda Bake Shop.....love this fabric!  I got the borders on yesterday and it is ready for me to quilt!  Here is a sneek peek of the fabric....Summerfest by April Rosenthal...to be released in the spring.  It is a cheerful quilt to be working on these cold winter days!

a sneek peek!

Hoping your world is filled with harmony and peace.....
