Gypsy

Gypsy

So excited to be published in McCall's newest issue!  My Gypsy quilt and pattern are featured in the May/June issue...check it out!  Hope you will want to make this eclectic Bohemian quilt, and will share pictures of it with me.  Would love to see what fabric you decide to use.  This is Andover Makow's Henna by Beth Studley.

So, my husband decided to donate one of my quilts to a charity auction which will be held in April.  This week, I have been busy quilting it.  My supervisor, the Yellow Cat...is watching closely for any mistakes.  She really makes it hard to freemotion quilt!  I had to ban her from the sewing room...much to her dismay!

Wishing all of you a beautiful and peace filled Easter weekend!

Another WIP Wednesday

Trying to get this little quilt done this week...my hubby has been reminding me it needs to be finished in time for a charity auction it is being donated to.  Do you ever feel like you have too many irons in the fire????

Last week I took a fantastic class with Eileen who is a certified instructor for Judy Niemyer.  Learned so much and finally started a Mariners Compass for my husband...who has begged for one for a very long long time!

Wishing you and your family a beautiful Easter filled with hope and joy!

Love Neon! a free pattern for you

Yesterday, I finished this quilt for Project Linus.  Today, I wrote up he pattern and put it on Craftsy for you all to download for free.  It is really simple and works up so quickly!  I backed it with some cuddly Minky.  It will be a nice cuddle blanket for some little person in the hospital.  I hope you will check out my pattern and you can download it right here!

If you do decide to make one, I would love to see it!  I made another one which I am starting to quilt. Hope to show it to you sometime next week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Wednesday WIP

I finished sewing this bright little quilt for Project Linus this morning....since I was using scraps, I ran out of cat fabric!  But I am still liking the way it turned out!

Thinking about adding a 4 inch border all around...what do you
think?

Now to try to finish quilting the little quilt I showed last week....I am loving how it turned out.  I used some lime green minky for the backing....so soft and cuddly!  After the hand and arm surgery, I am taking it slow, but apparently not slow enough as I had a very painful flare up yesterday. Much better this morning!

Hope you all are doing something fun today!

Leap Day!

What are you going to do with this extra day in the year?  Hopefully, I can finish quilting my Summer Blooms quilt and go for a walk around the lake on this Spring like day!

So this is what is on my design wall today...a little quilt for Project Linus. When I finish it, I will write up a tutorial for you.

And...it felt so good to have a needle and thread in my hand this weekend!
Working on one of the little blocks from the Splendid Sampler....

This is a short little post today....must get away from the computer if I am going to finish my quilt!

Slowing down a bit...

Really...it is not as bad as it looks!  And the pain is gone...just very inconvenient!  The good thing is I cannot wash dishes...the bad thing is that it has slowed down my quilting!  I had carpal tunnel surgery and a ganlion cyst removed from my index finger last Thursday.

But I can crochet!  I figured out a way to hold the hook, and it should count as physical therapy, right?

So, this is what is on my design wall....pre-surgery...it is calling to me! I had a couple of Kate Spain charm packs, so I decided to try this Ritzy Crackers Moda Bake Shop pattern.

Love this block, and the layout is so versatile!  You can get the free pattern at the Moda Bake Shop, just follow the link!

And this is the other little quilt that is waiting to be quilted now...a cute little design from Kim Diehls WhatNot club.  Since I love EPP, this was right up my alley!

So...back to watching The Good Wife and crocheting for  a bit!  Linking up today to Quilt Story Fabric Tuesday.
